Jennifer Roeleveld

Jennifer Roeleveld is Professor of South African and international taxation in the Commerce faculty (Finance and Tax) of the University of Cape Town South Africa where she is the head of tax research and supervises Masters and PhD students.

She is the first director of the UCT Tax Unit for Fiscal Research, formed in 2015 as a cross disciplinary gateway for global engagement. It combines the disciplines of Law, Accounting and Economics.

Prior to joining UCT she practiced as a Chartered Accountant and is also a Master Tax Practitioner.

She is the President of the International Fiscal Association (IFA) South Africa and is also a member of the Permanent Scientific Committee (PSC) of IFA. She is also an associate member of the European Association of Tax Law Professors.

She is the team leader, South Africa for the DeSTat project (Sustainable Tax Governance in Developing Countries through Global Tax Transparency). She is a member of SAICA’s national tax committee and related tax working groups.
