About Phil

Philip Holthouse serves as Chairman of Holthouse Carlin & Van Trigt LLP which he co-founded in 1991. HCVT has thirteen offices and over 700 employees primarily in California, Arizona and Texas. He provides tax planning and tax consulting services for privately held businesses and high net-worth individuals primarily in the real estate, entertainment and service industries. He also consults on leasing and real estate transactions.

Phil began his career with Peat Marwick & Mitchell (KPMG) in Los Angeles and worked as a tax manager in Peat Marwick’s national tax practice in Washington, D.C., where he monitored tax changes for the firm’s affiliate offices.

He served as a part-time faculty member for USC’s Graduate Taxation Program for approximately ten years, and is a member of the USC Leventhal School of Accounting Board of Councilors. Other professional affiliations include the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the California Society of Certified Public Accountants, the American Bar Association, and the State Bar of California. Phil also serves on the boards of several non-profit organizations including Harvard-Westlake School and the Angeleno and Los Angeles Gold chapters of YPO.
