About Stephanie

Stephanie Jones is the Global Tax Director at GE Healthcare, a $19B global division of General Electric employing approximately 52,000 people in over 140 countries. GE Healthcare provides essential healthcare technologies to developed and emerging markets with expertise in medical imaging, digital solutions, patient monitoring and diagnostics, drug discovery, biopharmaceutical manufacturing technologies and performance improvement solutions that are the building blocks of precision health. GE Healthcare’s products and services are sold worldwide primarily to hospitals, medical facilities, pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, and to the life science research market.

Prior to joining GE, Stephanie was a Tax Partner in PricewaterhouseCoopers’ (PwC’s) Industry Services Group based in New York. She served as the lead tax partner for several of PwC’s multi-national corporate clients in a variety of industries (e.g., entertainment and media, infrastructure, manufacturing, and pharmaceutical). Stephanie previously was a Director in PwC’s Washington National Tax Services (WNTS) office. In this role, Stephanie was one of the firm’s national experts in tax methods of accounting, including revenue recognition, timing of deductions, capitalization of tangible and intangible assets, inventory issues, and long-term contract accounting.

From 2011 to 2014, Stephanie served as a Legislation Tax Accountant for the Joint Committee on Taxation, a nonpartisan committee of the United States Congress. In this role, Stephanie was closely involved in every aspect of the tax legislative process. She assisted Congressional tax-writing committees and Members of Congress in developing and analyzing their legislative proposals as well as drafted committee reports, technical explanations, and legislative histories for tax-related bills. As one the two accountants on staff, Stephanie focused primarily on tax law changes related to businesses, including depreciation, inventory, accounting methods, corporate and passthrough entities, estimated taxes, general business credits, and the manufacturing deduction.

Stephanie received her B.A. in Business Economics with an emphasis in Accounting from the University of California at Santa Barbara. She is licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in California and New York.
