Sian Rayson

Principal
PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP

Sian Rayson is a principal in PwC's Tax Projects Delivery group in New York and leads our Research Tax Credits and Sec.199 work with Banking and Capital Markets clients. She applies an innovative methodology to minimize the client burden and optimize the agreement of Research Credit filings. This involves collaborating with the IRS to accelerate and increase certainty in relation to acceptance of that filing.

In addition, Sian has particular experience in applying a full end-to-end approach to the submission and management of claim. The approach leverages multi-disciplinary teams to provide integrated controversy, advisory, transfer pricing and quantitative advice.

Sian has managed Research Tax Incentive filings for Financial Services clients, globally, for over eight years, and in addition to many years filing within the U.S. Sian has worked extensively with tax authorities in the UK, France, Canada and Australia.

She has co-developed examination methodologies with both the IRS and HMRC and assisted in the development of UK guidance on the Research Tax incentive. More recently, Sian is involved in the development of PwC's approach to Sec. 199 within the Banking and Capital Markets sector.
