Richard serves as Managing Director of Commerce Family Office, a division of the Commerce Trust Company, in Kansas City, Missouri. Commerce Family Office provides comprehensive and highly customized services to high net worth families. In his role as Managing Director, Richard and his team work closely with clients and their advisors on strategies for addressing the complex personal, family and financial challenges that can accompany significant wealth.
Richard has more than 29 years of experience as a trust and estate planning attorney. Prior to joining Commerce, Richard served as co-chair of the Tax, Trusts & Estates Division of Stinson Leonard Street LLP in Kansas City. Before working at Stinson, Richard was a Partner with Bryan Cave LLP. Richard is a Fellow with the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel and a member of the Missouri Bar. He is past Director and President of the Estate Planning Society of Kansas City.
