Philip J. Santarelli, CPA, is a partner emeritus in the Professional Practice Group of Baker Tilly Virchow Krause, LLP. Formerly he was the Chief Risk Officer for ParenteBeard LLC. During his career, he has served as the chair of the Technical Issues Committee of the Private Company Practice Section of the AICPA; as a member of the Financial Reporting Executive Committee, of the AICPA; and as a member of the Auditing Standards Board task force drafting AU-C 600, Special Considerations-Audits of Group Financial Statements. He was a member of the Professional Practice Executive Committee of the Center for Audit Quality and a past chair of its Smaller Firm Task Force. In addition he served as a member of the Standing Advisory Group of the Public Accounting Oversight Board. During his career he has interfaced with numerous standard setters and provided articles and analysis as well as speaking on technical accounting and auditing issues.
