About Peter

An expert in Litigation and a Partner with Scribner, Hall & Thompson, LLP, Peter Winslow’s practice includes audit, administrative appeals and litigation on tax issues that affect insurance companies. His tax planning work broadly covers most federal tax issues involving insurance companies, including insurance reserves, reinsurance, valuation, accounting and insolvency. He is engaged as an expert witness on insurance tax matters in litigation and in proceedings involving insurance company tax issues, and is a frequent speaker and writer on insurance tax issues.

Peter joined the firm in 1979 after spending four years in the Refund Litigation and Interpretative Divisions of the IRS Office of Chief Counsel. Peter represented the insurance industry on the IRS Information Reporting Program Advisory Committee and is a former member of the editorial board of the Society of Actuaries Taxing Times publication.
