Patrick Cheung is a partner for KPMG China. Prior to that, he was a transfer pricing partner and the leader of the South China transfer pricing practice for Deloitte China. Before joining Deloitte, he was the senior transfer pricing partner of another Big Four accounting firms in Hong Kong. He began his Big Four international tax and transfer pricing consulting career 15 years ago in Canada. Prior to that, he worked for the Canada Revenue Agency.
Among Patrick's key clients are some of the world's biggest brand names in fashion, luxury and general consumer goods and some of the largest retailers in the world. For these clients, he has helped design and defend many transfer pricing models involving intangibles, principal structures, and sourcing and purchasing structures involving multiple entities in the Americas, Europe, and Asia. He is well-versed in managing the needs of multiple stakeholders in these types of projects. He has also similar experience in other industries including automotive, high technology, and pharmaceutical products. His financial institution clients include major international commercial and investment banks, insurance and reinsurance companies as well as asset management firms.
Patrick is recognized by LMG's Expert Guides as a leading transfer pricing adviser in Hong Kong. Patrick is part of HK ACCA industry expert panel that advises the Hong Kong Inland Revenue Department on transfer pricing policy matters. He is also a frequent speaker at PRC State Administration of Taxation and other local tax bureaus training events as well as other industry forums on the subject of transfer pricing.
