Michael Urban

Michael Urban co-leads PwC's Managing Accounts Team, which specializes in assisting clients with interest and account-related issues. He also handles a wide range of tax practice and procedure issues as a member of the Tax Controversy and Regulatory Services Team at PwC.

Prior to joining PwC in September 1994, Mike was with the Office of IRS Chief Counsel for nearly 10 years. From 1990 to 1994, he was a Senior Attorney in the General Litigation Division, and from 1984 to 1990 he was a trial attorney in the Office of IRS District Counsel, Houston, Texas. While in Houston, he also served as a Special Assistant United States Attorney for the Eastern and Southern Districts of Texas, where he represented the IRS in US Bankruptcy Court and US District Court. From 1980 to 1982 he was an associate editor of The Tax Lawyer and is the author of numerous articles regarding interest and other tax procedure issues.
