Mr. Giovannini is a Partner at Alston & Bird LLP in Charlotte, North Carolina. His practice focuses on all aspects of unclaimed property, including planning and structuring, audit defense and voluntary disclosure representation. He also has significant experience with issues related to securities and stored-value/ rewards cards. Michael speaks nationally at events hosted by organizations such as the Council On State Taxation (COST) and publishes on various unclaimed property issues, with recent articles appearing in State Tax Notes and the Tax Management Multistate Tax Report, among others. In addition, he dedicates a substantial portion of his efforts to advising clients with respect to various state and local tax issues. Mr. Giovannini holds a Juris Doctor from Wake Forest University and a Bachelor of Arts from Furman University. He is a member of the Georgia state bar.
