Kenan is of Counsel at Scribner, Hall and Thompson, LLP. He is responsible for the general operations of the firm. He is also responsible for the publication of the firm’s monthly newsletter and for facilitating the monitoring service the firm offers to their clients. He provides legal support for the partners on a range of federal tax issues affecting insurance companies and insurance products.
Kenan is a co-update author for the LexisNexis treatise Federal Income Taxation of Life Insurance Companies. He is also a co-author of the Bloomberg Tax Management Portfolio T.M. 460-2nd: Tax-Exempt Organizations — Declaratory Judgments (Section 7428). Kenan has assisted low-income individuals in disputes with the IRS as a member of the Janet R. Spragens Federal Tax Clinic, and he has volunteered with the D.C. Earned Income Tax Credit Campaign. He is active in the ABA Tax Section’s Young Lawyers Forum. Prior to joining the firm in 2015, Kenan worked as a federal tax law editor for a legal news and publishing company.
