Julie M. Allen is a Transaction Group Partner in the PwC Washington National Tax Services office where she consults with clients and practice offices on federal taxation issues involving corporations and their shareholders.

Julie joined the firm in 1995. Julie began her career in the Salt Lake City, Utah office where her responsibilities included: supervising the compliance of federal and multistate income tax returns for corporations, partnerships and individuals; preparing tax provisions for financial statement reporting purposes; assisting clients with IRS tax audits; and, assisting with financial audits for large corporations. Julie M. Allen is a Transaction Group Partner in the PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP Washington National Tax Services office where she consults with clients and practice offices on federal taxation issues involving corporations and their shareholders.

Julie joined the firm in 1995. Julie began her career in the Salt Lake City, Utah office where her responsibilities included: supervising the compliance of federal and multistate income tax returns for corporations, partnerships and individuals; preparing tax provisions for financial statement reporting purposes; assisting clients with IRS tax audits; and, assisting with financial audits for large corporations. In October 2000, Julie transferred to the Washington National Tax Transaction Group to specialize in: tax planning, structuring and executing mergers and acquisitions for multi-national corporations and consolidated groups; structuring and executing tax-free divestiture transactions for multi-national corporations and consolidated groups; consulting on general domestic corporate taxation matters; preparation and review of E&P and stock basis studies; and preparing tax memos, opinions and private letter ruling requests.  Julie is one of PwC’s specialists focusing in tax planning for financially troubled corporations, including tax attribute management and debt workout planning.  Julie is a co-author of the Tax Management Portfolio on Earnings and Profits and is one of PwC’s specialists in the Earnings and Profits and Stock Basis practice area. Julie is also one of PwC’s national tax experts in structuring public and private company spin-off transactions, and specializes in obtaining private letter rulings in this area.

Julie holds an undergraduate degree in accounting with a minor in chemistry and a Masters degree in Taxation both from the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, Utah.  Julie obtained her Certified Public Accountant designation in 1996.
