Jaime Carey

Jaime Carey is Managing Partner and co-head of Carey & Cia's tax group. He holds a degree in law and specializes in personal and corporate tax planning, local and international tax consulting, project financing, mergers and acquisitions, leasing, and foreign investment transactions. Mr. Carey frequently lectures in legal seminars, meetings, and conferences, both in Chile and abroad. He is a member of several company boards of directors, including Austin International, Sencorp, Banmédica (UnitedHealth Group), and Evercrisp (Frito Lay Chile). He is also the Chairman of the Board of Metlife Chile. Mr. Carey is recognized as a leading lawyer by several prestigious international publications, such as Chambers and Partners, Latin Lawyer 250, Who's Who Legal, Best Lawyers, and The Legal 500. Mr. Carey is a member of the International Bar Association (IBA) and currently the Chair of the Legal Practice Division. He has previously held other positions with the IBA, including Chair of the Latin American Forum and Co-Chair of the Corporate and M&A Law Committee. In addition, he is the President of The Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) in Chile and the Director of Interlex.
