Francisco Da Cunha Ferreira

Francisco joined the Lisbon office of Uría Menéndez - Proença de Carvalho in 2005 and became the resident partner in 2017. In 2009, Francisco worked in the firm’s Madrid office.

He was seconded to the New York office of Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP as an international associate from October 2013 until March 2014.

Francisco focuses his practice on corporate law and specialises in the following areas:

• Banking and finance: Francisco regularly assists clients (both lenders and borrowers) in local and cross-border financing transactions (including project finance and acquisition finance);
• Mergers and acquisitions: he advises sellers and purchasers (both Portuguese and foreign) on the acquisition of companies and other corporate restructuring transactions;
• Corporate law and corporate governance: Francisco advises clients on general corporate matters and the negotiation of commercial agreements.

Francisco also advises clients on energy law, particularly renewable energy matters.
