Description

Many states entered 2020 still considering the challenges and continued impacts of the 2017 tax act but the coronavirus has brought additional changes to federal tax law to which states are now responding.  With the emergence of Coronavirus and its economic impact, Congress passed the CARES Act, which made additional changes to federal tax law. Now, corporate tax departments must navigate multistate complexity and determine the best available planning strategies for their organization as a result of state conformity to the CARES Act and state responses the Act’s provisions.

Mike joined Bloomberg Tax and Accounting in April 2012 after a long career as a tax attorney in Fannie Mae's Legal Department. Previously, Mike was an attorney with the IRS Office of Chief Counsel, in the former Legislation and Regulations Division. Mike has a J.D. from Albany Law School and LL.M. (taxation) from Georgetown University Law Center.
