Cost Segregation studies are powerful tools for companies to accelerate and maximize depreciation, however, they are complex and require heavy attention to detail. Breaking apart a building often requires expertise in many areas such as accounting, engineering, building construction, and law. It doesn't stop there though; the company must then report and record depreciation expenses on the building assets, which is another challenge to overcome. Ryan Sheehan is a Senior Product Lead for Bloomberg Tax. He is responsible for Bloomberg Tax's Fixed Assets corporate tax products. Prior to Bloomberg Tax, Ryan was a CPA at KPMG’s Washington D.C. Metro office in the Business Tax Services practice.

Maggie Lust

Maggie Lust is a Subject Matter Expert for Bloomberg Tax & Accounting. She is responsible for supporting the product teams that build and maintain Fixed Assets. Prior to Bloomberg Tax & Accounting, Maggie was a senior associate at Dixon Hughes Goodman (not FORVIS) in the tax practice.

Marla Jones

Marla is a Tangible Property Services senior manager who specializes in fixed asset management services to a variety of public and private companies. She focuses primarily on companies with medium to large fixed asset balances. Marla has over 20 years of experience working in the private sector, including 12 years with a large restaurant organization with multiple national chains.

Kevin Mowatt

Kevin Mowatt is a Senior Manager in RSM’s Tangible Property Services Group where he specializes in cost segregation and other tangible asset services. Drawing on his experience as an engineer, Kevin is able to advise clients on matters such as Federal tax depreciation, partial building dispositions, improvement versus repair studies, and unit of property analysis. Prior to joining RSM, Kevin spent 10 years at a Big Four firm in their Engineering and Construction Consulting practice.
